Monitors

How monitors work in Cheetah Ping and what you can track.

A monitor is the core unit of Cheetah Ping. Each monitor watches a single URL for changes and alerts you when something different is detected.

How it works

  1. You provide a URL and choose what to watch
  2. Cheetah Ping fetches the page on your chosen schedule
  3. Each fetch is compared against the previous snapshot
  4. If a change is detected, you get an alert with a visual diff

Monitor settings

Each monitor has these configurable properties:

  • Label: a descriptive name (auto-suggested by AI, or set manually)
  • URL: the webpage to monitor
  • Watch mode: what to look for (see Watch Modes)
  • Check frequency: how often to check (see Frequency)
  • Notifications: where to send alerts (email, Slack, Discord)

AI-powered setup

When you paste a URL, Cheetah Ping's AI analyzes the page and suggests the optimal configuration: a label, watch mode, CSS selector (if applicable), and check frequency. You can accept the suggestion or customize it before saving.

Pausing and resuming

You can pause a monitor at any time without deleting it. Paused monitors stop checking and stop consuming your plan's monitor quota. Resume at any time to pick up where you left off.
